What does the term Application Modernization most often refer to?

Application Modernization primarily refers to updating and improving legacy applications and their methods. This process involves enhancing existing systems to meet current business needs and technological standards. Legacy applications may be outdated, difficult to maintain, and unable to leverage the latest features or performance improvements offered by modern platforms.
